Education

Miray Evci is a dedicated psychotherapist who earned her BA in Psychology with honors from Özyeğin University, where she studied with a full scholarship. She furthered her education by completing Clinical Psychology MA at Bahcesehir University, graduating with high honors. Throughout this program, Miray received extensive psychotherapy training and gained valuable clinical experience.

Psychotherapy Approach

Miray's clinical approach is grounded in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Therapy, EMDR Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. Rooted in these evidence-based modalities, Miray also brings a compassionate approach to her practice, ensuring a caring and empathetic environment for her clients.

 

Professional Experience

Miray has been actively contributing to her field since 2015. Her experience includes voluntary participation in field studies with children in disadvantaged areas, internships at Anchor Group in Bucharest, Romania, and the French Lape Hospital in Istanbul. Between 2018 and 2020, she worked as an assistant psychologist at Bude Psychotherapy Center and a psychodrama atelier.

 

Currently based in London, Miray provides face-to-face and online psychotherapy to individuals and couples. Her clinical interests include interpersonal and societal traumas, relationship problems, anxiety, depression, recurrent negative relationship cycles, individuation, self-confidence, anger control, obsessions, psychosomatisation, difficulties in emotion regulation and expression, familial problems, loss and grief processes, intimate partner violence, and migration psychology.

Research Experience

Miray's research background includes working as a research assistant for one and a half years during her undergraduate education. She contributed to a TUBITAK-funded study examining the mother-child attachment relationship. Miray received coding training for a scale measuring maternal sensitivity, conducted home observations and interviews with mothers and toddlers, and coded maternal behaviors.

 

In addition, she served as a research assistant in a study exploring the experiences of parents of children born with cleft lip and palate, conducting interviews with families at a dental hospital in Istanbul. Her master's thesis, which focused on examining posttraumatic growth among women who have survived intimate partner violence, was presented at the European Congress of Psychology at the Brighton Centre in 2023.
